in control of it, or it in control of you

'It' being life, your career, your relationship with. . .
hobbies (e.g. sports, music, computers..), drinking, druging, your closet, room, on and on. . .
Goal is to have edge on it -
be on top of - rather than under heel of - 'it'. . . (well, wouldn't advise 'getting on top of' hard drugs.. but you get point). . .
you see people - if you're an observant type -
who are under the control of 'it' - some, badly so - those extremes about. . .
some, model citizens.. - you're upstanding Joe.. - next thing - in grips of 'nice-guy-ism-ness' - what people think of him, grows into in control of him - he's under control of pleasing this, that, the next person - pleasing the ones in whose clutches he wrrriggles. . .
This guy, looking to put in more hours, - responsibilities explode through roof, he's swallowed into belly of 'it'...
tends to start out by 'it' wearing one down - overworks - bleeds life from - the victim - who. gradually. zombifies into autopilot drone type - perhaps wearing smile when must. . .
An abundance of these types seen in big cities.. -
think of my older brother - e-mail sent by him (from small town in Europe) -
regarding my younger brother's thoughts of moving to NYC -

"I'd rather have him (and you) in London than NYC for health reasons alone. There seems to be a tendency to develop a grayish, wheezend look at 'ground zero'.

ti the which I replied there are plenty of very beautful people in NY. . .
but, later, walking about, taking a bit of note.. hm, he did have a point. . .

I like, I respect, those who are in control of it - working 'it' - rather than 'it' working them.. - kick it up notches - they're *working the system* rather than *the system working them*. . .
Very few find, work, this way. . . Very few of those who do, are honest. . . Those few though, who find this state, live this way, they have a good vantage point on things. . . They can see the forest. . . They're happy they've gotten out (clawed free) from the dummy fortress; the to-and-fro scramble. . .
yet, sad by those remaining enmeshed therein - squigling helpless, like mice in a sticky traps. . . 'they're not in control of 'it'' he sighs ''it's in control of them'. . .
Raise awareness of 'it'! Let's be in control of 'it'! - - - and set friend's free to be above 'it' as well!!! Swell!!!
