do, do, Do!

So goes the American way - such 'doers'. . .
and could this (all this flurrious activity) be a cover-up for past wrongs; overcompensation to hide flaws?
Have you seen the 'Bowling for Columbine' movie? The section with the Southpark-looking cartoons playing out a satiric account of Europeans first settling here - - - them effectively booting natives aside, enslaving peoples they boat over. . .
Uberwork (you've probably experienced this if you're a U.S. citizen) can serve as a strong distraction from the truth - i.e. one can deal with this or that - or they can throw themselves headlong into some mega project - lose self in it (perhaps even in the name of 'progress') hours, days, years. . . - - - think history of this place - UP flew the skyscrapers! urban sprraaawwlll!!! and technology BoNanza - TVs in every house! Entertain us!!! what past!? We're PROUD America! UP beef the defense forces - - - most powerful nation on Earth - our military kicks anyone else's aass'! Don't mess with the U.S.! ... but does a lot of this fall in line with overcompensation (do-do-do-don't stop-don't-slow-down-do-do-do!)?
Has the U.S. been doing this (nutty overwork-it-ness) for maaaaaaany years. . .
Are we beginning to wake up to it now. . . Rubbing eyes, stretching, combing hair at mirror.. Seeing things for what they are. . .
Have a rest.. 'take a chill pill'. . .
See situation more clearly, catch breath from being so overworked..
Now, face truth.. Deal.. Sort..
Yes, to fix problems, one must first face them. . .

*I dare not throw all pioneers who journeyed to this country into one big bad ball - I definitely believe there were many who had their hearts and eyes set on better hopes and/or adventures in the New World. . . I think these have sustained and continue to sustain America. . .
